Tulum, a Vacation in Paradise for Creative People

Unlike other Caribbean destinations, Tulum is known for its natural and bohemian vibe. In the wake of the mystical legacy of the ancient Maya people, and thanks to its astounding landscape, Tulum’s power of attraction on sensitive and creative people is getting a lot of buzz.

That’s why artists such as Alicia Keys, Natalia Lafourcade, Alondra de la Parra, Diana García, and even the Brazilian top model Lais Ribeiro, have fallen in love with Tulum’s magical turquoise beach, its white sands, and the hundreds of green and brown shades of the jungle.

Early this year, Alicia Keys celebrated her 38th birthday with her husband Swizz Beatz here in Tulum to reconnect with themselves, as they traveled as a couple and left the kids at home. Besides being a mystical place, Tulum is the ideal place for couples to enjoy each other.

On September 2018, Mexican musicians Natalia Lafourcade and Alondra de la Parra travelled together to this magical destination to enjoy and explore the wonderful nearby cenotes. We learned through their social media accounts that this was an unforgettable and transformational experience.

Mexican actress and artist Diana García is also a frequent visitor of Tulum, both for pleasure and developing art projects. She also has been invited to the Art with Me Tulum art festival that celebrated this year its second edition.

To close this note, let us tell you also that Lais Ribeiro, the Brazilian top model well-known for being one of Victoria’s Secret angels since 2015 and for walking on the runway wearing clothes by the most famous fasion designers in the Haute couture world, is also a fan of Tulum and loves snorkeling in the local cenotes.

Ik Lab

Tulum Ruinas Road Km. 5, Hotel Zone.

This new gallery opened on April. It was designed by Santiago Rumney Guggenheim and Eduardo Neira. It is a gorgeous place, built with local materials, where you will walk among curvaceous walls and circular windows. Becoming a creative vortex for contemporary art is the mission here.

Balam Art on Feathers

In this little gallery you will find beautiful souvenirs. As you already probably have guessed, the main offer here are carefully handcrafted, beautifully decorated feathers.

Cenzontle

Tulum-Boca Paila Road Km. 7.3.

Mixing the cuisines of the world with Mexican flavors and ingredients describes Cenzontle’s signature processes. Please try the dirty martini and the peppers filled with goat cheese. For dessert, we recommend the corn cake with chocolate ice cream.

Gitano Tulum

Tulum-Boca Paila Road Km. 7.

Between the beach and the jungle, this bar is known for its cocktails that mix mezcal with fresh natural juices made of local fruits and herbs. Friday and Saturday are for dinner and dancing, and on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday you will enjoy live music.
