The best location in Mexico: Playa del Carmen has it all

Those of us who are in love with Playa del Carmen like to say that it’s at the center of the world, and also of our hearts. It may sound like an exaggeration, but it’s true that we usually think the person we’re in love with is the best in the universe. The thing about Playa is that you can never fall out of love with it, because every day it surprises us with something new: a place to visit, blooming flowers, sea turtles going back to the sea.

But there’s some truth to our passionate claim: Playa del Carmen is at the center of the world.

The best way to get to Playa del Carmen is by flying into Cancun. From there, you need only take a bus (which will cost about $200 pesos, a little over $10 U.S. dollars), and 45 minutes later you’ll be in paradise. Other options include renting a car, or if you’d rather not drive, taking a taxi (which will cost $600 pesos or about $30 dollars) or, if you’re feeling adventurous, taking a van ($70 pesos or $4 dollars).

If your vacation started in Merida, Yucatan, and you want to go to Playa next, it’s very easy to take the toll road heading east. There are also buses that will have you there in just a few hours.

If you’re coming from Mexico City, the route is the same as from the Cancun International Airport. Finally, if you’re planning your visit from anywhere else in the world, there are a lot of flight options: contact us to help you find the best choice.

That’s not the end of Playa del Carmen’s perfect location. Because it’s in the Mexican Caribbean, it’s spectacularly sunny all year long, with a constant breeze and green vegetation.

What else could you ask for?

Amusement parks, world-class shows, shopping and tons of fun are just a short ride away.

And accommodation is the least of your concerns: you can count on us to help you create a Playa del Carmen discovery experience like you could have never imagined.

Discover Happy Address and the best side of Playa del Carmen.

An all-inclusive experience in Playa del Carmen… and more

When people think about a Mayan Riviera vacation, they usually think of three things: beachy paradise, night clubs and lush nature.

And they’re exactly right.

But the Mayan Riviera offers much more, regardless of whether you’re traveling with family or friends.

Many all-inclusive resorts offer a relatively attractive variety of activities. For an additional fee, some offer water sports at the beach, or entertainment options and shows within the facilities and by the pools, as well as entertainment at some of their restaurants.

So, what’s the catch?

Where does that leave you?

If you’re visiting a unique location, why follow the rules like everyone else? All-inclusive resorts are only a small part of a wide array of options in the Mayan Riviera.

When choosing to stay at an all-inclusive resort, you miss out on the fun of a waterpark that may be a drive away, or the chance to walk along Playa del Carmen’s Fifth Avenue; if you’re here for a bachelor or bachelorette party, you might be tempted to stay at the hotel’s little club and miss out on Mexico’s best clubs.

Choose an accommodation option that includes it all, but also considers the heart of your vacation: you.

Through Happy Address, an innovative vacation rental system, you’ll be able to experience Playa del Carmen as you could never have imagined, but that’s not all: we can help you plan a dream vacation for yourself and your family. And the best part? We’re not brokers looking for a commission; we’re your friends, and we just want you to have an unforgettable vacation.

How to take a vacation and take care of the environment at the same time

The environment belongs to everyone, although it seems that some people don’t yet understand this.

But it’s always important to know we need to take care of all the spots we visit on our family vacations, whether they are on the beach, in the city, in colonial cities, in small villages or ecotourism destinations.

We need everyone’s commitment so our tourism gems remain beautiful for generations to come.

If, for example, you love to enjoy your vacation on one of the beautiful beaches that exist in the Mexican Caribbean and Riviera Maya, you’ll have noticed that hotel staff, officials and inhabitants work tirelessly to protect the environment; however, much remains to be done. How can you help the environment? Here are some tips:

Don’t use a car

On your vacation you should be relaxed and unhurried; take advantage and use public transportation, rent a bike, or if the destination allows, use your feet. This way your carbon footprint will be much smaller.

A sustainable meal is possible

We don’t want you to deprive yourself of regional delicacies, but you can be aware of how to eat them. You may get clandestine offers to consume protected species, and you should definitely refuse them.

Reuse and recycle

Reuse in different ways: a refillable water bottle, returnable containers for water or soft drinks, cloth bags instead of plastic. In hotels it’s often a problem, but there are other kinds of lodging in which you can use non-disposable dishes.

Be like you were never there

It’s vitally important to collect cans, plastic rings, bags, cutlery, napkins and all other trash you’ve generated during your stay.

These are just a few small steps that will help make your stay perfect and keep your destination pristine for a long time.

Please, don’t stay at a chain hotel

We know you’re looking to provide the best for your family. Having the endorsement of a well-known hotel chain seems to guarantee certain aspects of your stay, but we seriously believe the rules have changed: that the best way to truly enjoy and experience a vacation is now different, and that you deserve an experience so new, you’ll never find it in a catalogue.

Don’t stay at a hotel if you’re restless or think of rules as more like suggestions; or you’ll have to stick to a schedule for everything from the moment your reservation is made.

Don’t stay at a hotel if you love nature as it is: unpredictable, beautiful, spontaneous, unique. Hotels will do everything to make your stay “pleasant,” but will never take you to a landscape where you might see a dolphin jump out of the water at sunset; you’ll never randomly come across a crab walking back to its hole.

Don’t stay at a hotel if you enjoy authenticity; if you love walking by yourself, getting lost, discovering new locations and being enchanted by them, and taking in the colorful culture of the destination you’re visiting.

Don’t stay at a hotel if you want to give your family a unique, unforgettable vacation. Because they might differ in some aspects, but in the end they’re all the same.

Don’t stay at a hotel if you’re all about freedom.

If you really want to find a new way to pamper your family, to open their eyes to a new world view, to teach them about life and about their destination, you should find a new way to travel, to stay, and to be yourself.

How to organize the graduation trip of your dreams

After graduating, be it with your bachelor’s, master’s or any other degree, you’ll definitely want to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying yourself with your classmates: you deserve a spectacular graduation trip.

There are many places that offer different packages, payment plans and more, but what makes a graduation trip unforgettable? Here’s what we’ve found.

1. A perfect destination

A road trip after graduation isn’t ideal; with so many people involved, it’s likely not everyone in the group will share the same sense of adventure. In fact, many of your classmates might be very picky when choosing a destination. That’s why you need an undeniable paradise. The Mexican Caribbean has plenty of options, including Playa del Carmen. A graduation trip to this jewel of the Caribbean is definitely a great choice.

2. Find out what the groups’ interests are

Activities available in Playa are perfect if you’re looking for adventure tourism, private beaches, swimming with dolphins, etc. If you know what the groups’ interests are, you can plan an itinerary that will leave everyone satisfied. Playa del Carmen offers eco-tourism, recreational activities and plenty of tours that everyone will love.

3. A place that adapts to you, not the other way around

Hotels have rules that can be exceedingly strict: rigid meal schedules, dress codes, behavior guidelines and more. It’s always a good idea to have accommodation options where you can feel comfortable, relaxed and enjoy your Playa del Carmen graduation trip.

Are you familiar with Happy Address? It’s an innovative, affordable and versatile vacation rental option. A fun time for your group is guaranteed.

Songs you won’t stop listening to while on vacation

Okay, summer’s here. We know you’re ready to go on vacation and take all the fun with you to a paradise-like destination. With family or friends, summers are meant to be enjoyed without a care in the world, and of course, to the beat of fun music.

So what songs will you be hearing non-stop this summer?

Here’s a small list. Whether you love or hate catchy, rhythmic beats, it’s always a good idea to know what’s delighting (or torturing) your ears.

Hey Ma – Pitbull, J. Balvin, Camila Cabello

This three-way collaboration comes from the soundtrack of The Fate of the Furious. Colorful, with a catchy beat and Camila Cabello’s sweet vocals to counter Pitbull’s style, this track will definitely be playing at most beach clubs, especially in the Caribbean.

Reguetón Lento- CNCO

Remember those slow reggaetón beats people don’t dance to anymore? We do, and they were nothing like this super catchy tune, whose chorus has given way to an endless number of parodies on YouTube. While this song is performed by a boyband, we all know music is rather ageless.

Vente pa’ca- Maluma and Ricky Martin

Undoubtedly two of pop music’s hottest acts, this Puerto Rican/Colombian duet is loaded with rhythm and sexiness.

Despacito-Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee

Of course, there’s no escaping this instant, massive hit. Whether it’s the original version or the remix featuring Justin Bieber, you’ll hear Despacito everywhere you go.

Without a doubt, Playa del Carmen’s hotels, gourmet restaurants and beach clubs will have these songs on rotation all day long. Would you like to enjoy a vacation where you make your own playlist? Talk to the experts in customized vacations, at your pace, with your rules and your own music. Happy Address has accommodation options that will make your vacations truly yours.

5 tips so you can save on your vacation

Whether you go on vacation in high season or regular season, and whether you go with family or with friends, finding a way to save money during your vacation while having the time of your life is a win-win situation: everyone will have an incredible time and you’ll support regional tourism.

Saving on vacation doesn’t mean skimping on expenses and dealing with scarcity, nor is it a matter of haggling so the company or person trying to make a deal lowers their profit margin; it’s a question of finding a perfect cost-benefit ratio that satisfies both sides.

That’s why we want to give you some tips that will allow you to get these advantages and more on your next vacation:

  1. Buy in advance. If you buy ahead of time and you’re not afraid of any personal or work conflicts that could jeopardize your trip, go ahead. Airlines offer unique discounts on advance purchases. In particular, you can take advantage of additional discounts, including coupons and discount codes.
  2. Compare. It’s always important to have options, especially when it comes to tourism service providers. Have you ever been shopping in a market when the sellers themselves start fighting each other for your attention? The same situation can happen with airlines and hotels.
  3. Look for good accommodation. Accommodation is one of the highest expenses on vacation. Choosing where to stay can be complicated, much more so with so many options in places like Playa del Carmen or Tulum: hotels, hostels and much more. Personally, we recommend checking out all the options; places like Happy Address offer similar or better amenities than many hotels in the Riviera Maya and you not only get an air-conditioned hotel room, but a fully-furnished apartment at an incredible price.
  4. Enjoy being free. Remember, you’re on vacation to have fun. Why tie yourself to a schedule? Check out guided walking tours or have an adventure and discover surrounding areas.
  5. Have an authentic experience. Mixing with the vibe of a place is an experience unmatched in every way. By living like a true local you can discover more than as a tourist and meet incredible people.

We hope these tips will encourage you to travel and have fun on your vacation.
